We’re the duo behind Jitterbug, a modern specialty cafe with a vintage soul.

Cornbread, cappuccinos, celiac-friendly shepherd’s pie? How did we get here?

We’re not your run-of-the-mill java junkies, more like two burnt-out creatives who hate burnt coffee. That being said, a fine cup of Joe has inspired many of our greatest ideas. And one day it hit us: hey, maybe our greatest idea of all is that cup of Joe. So, we left the grind behind to pursue our caffeine daydream.

Eventually, the stars aligned and we stumbled across an unexpected muse in Tallulah Mae, a peppy ‘lil 1923 Ford Model T who jitters around like she runs on espresso. Originally meant to be the roaming home of Jitterbug Beverage Co, our girl is on vacation for the time being, but she still serves as the inspiration behind the neighborhood cafe we now call home.

Speaking of which, one thing you should know about our shop is that it’s one of the only (if not the only) truly gluten-free kitchens in Pensacola. Prioritizing this particular dietary restriction is important to us because there aren’t many options for gluten-intolerant folks in the community right now. But rest assured, we only make things that are good BECAUSE they are gluten-free.

Anyway, the rest is us just making stuff we like. So now you can pair our signature cold brew and locally roasted espresso drinks with an oddly satisfying square of hot honey butter cornbread. And for all you non-coffee drinkers out there, have no fear. Our East Hill cafe is tapped with a variety of other buzzworthy beverages, brews, wines, baked goods, and gluten-free comfort food guaranteed to make your tongue do a double take.
